Regular - ar verbs in Spanish
Rule: To conjugate a regular –ar verb in the
present tense, drop the –ar ending
of the infinitive and add:
Cantar – to sing
Yo canto – I sing nosotros/as cantamos – we sing
Tú cantas- You sing (informal) vosotros/as cantáis – You (Spain) sing
él, ella, Usted canta- He, she you (formal) sing Ellos, ellas, Uds. cantan – They sing, you (all) sing.
Ie. 1. Yo canto en la clase de música. I sing in music class.
2. Ellos practican los deportes en el gimnasio. They practice sports in the gym.
3. Ella habla por teléfono mucho. She talks on the phone alot.
